“There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often”
The blessed life of our beloved Muhammad (peace be upon him) stands as an unparalleled source of guidance to humanity as Allah described him (pbuh) as a “Mercy” [And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds] (21:107). In his life actions everyone finds the unmistaken and infallible guiding role model for handling all life situations and reacting to all life challenges in all ages till the Day of Judgment. This is why Allah (swt) again described him (pbuh) but as a “Role Model” [Indeed you had in the messenger of Allah a role model] (33:21). While navigating our challenges, as American Muslims, in face of the recent Islamophobic rhetoric and shaping our future with faith and vision, we need to examine again the prophetic life where our current Muslim community is facing similar challenges faced the first Muslim community he (pbuh).
This two-day Knowledge Retreat is planned to provide attendees with an intensive dose of Islamic knowledge steering their life pursuits through Allah’s guidance by presenting and discussing the legacy Prophet Muhammad established in serving humanity till the Day of Judgment through the Divine Guidance of Allah. The Islamic perspective for solutions for real-life challenges humanity is currently facing will be presented.
The retreat this year will deal with the Seerah in a “thematic-based” approach where important topics and daily life challenges facing the American Muslim community, and in the heart of it is the younger generation, will be deeply researched and discussed from the Seerah lens while considering the Prophetic Seerah as the main resource and material in prescribing relevant solutions and cures. Identifying the similarities between what we are currently facing and what the first prophetic generation faced and drawing lessons for handling our current challenges will be main focus of the retreat. Therefore, attendees should expect dealing with their contemporary challenges while examining in the precious gems & treasures of the blessed historical Prophetic life.
The expected audience is mostly from, but not limited to, the College and Young Professionals age. The delivery style in the Retreat is a classroom style where attendees are expected to take notes and lecture outlines might be distributed. Enough time for Q/A and interaction with the instructors will be highly considered.
