Convention and knowledge retreat logistics
WHAT ARE THE DATES OF THE CONVENTION?
The convention will begin Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM and end Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:30 PM. Departure is Sunday, December 31st (there will not be programming scheduled for this day).

The Knowledge Retreat is a two-day classroom style learning event that will be held prior to the start of the convention on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 and Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Stay tuned for more details.

WHO CAN REGISTER FOR THE KNOWLEDGE RETREAT?
You must be 15 years or older to register for the Knowledge Retreat.
WILL THERE BE DAYCARE, SCHOOL AND YOUNG YOUTH PROGRAMMING DURING THE RETREAT?
Yes, programming for children under 15 years will be available at an additional cost. $5/hour or $20/day per child. Parent/Guardian must be registered for the Knowledge Retreat.
IS THE KNOWLEDGE RETREAT FEE INCLUDED IN THE CONVENTION FEE?
No, the Knowledge Retreat is a separate event from the convention, and therefore has its own fee.
WHAT IS MAS-ICNA'S REFUND POLICY?
Convention registration may be cancelled/refunded only if a cancellation request is made by December 1, 2017. You may e-mail your request to email@example.com. Refunds (minus a $50 processing fee) will be issued within a week. Cancellations will not be accepted after December 1st. There are no refunds for no-shows.
CAN I PURCHASE MY CONVENTION TICKET ON-SITE?
Yes, on-site registration will begin Wednesday, December 27th at 4:00 PM at McCormick Place Level 3 and continue throughout the convention. No discount will be available when purchasing on-site.
CAN I PURCHASE MY KNOWLEDGE RETREAT TICKET ON-SITE?
Seats for the Knowledge Retreat are limited, therefore, on-site registration will not be available. All tickets must be purchased prior to the start of the Knowledge Retreat.
WILL THERE BE ONE-DAY PASSES AVAILABLE FOR THE CONVENTION AND/OR KNOWLEDGE RETREAT?
No, one-day passes for the Convention and Knowledge Retreat will not be available for purchase. You must register for all three convention days, and/or all two Knowledge Retreat days to attend.
WHAT HOTELS ARE NEAR THE McCORMICK PLACE CONVENTION CENTER?
MAS-ICNA has partnered with the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and Marriott Marquis Hotel. Information for these hotels are available here. Both hotels are connected directly to the McCormick Place Convention Center. Any other hotel you may choose to book with will not have any special convention discounts or shuttle bus services.
WILL THERE BE A SHUTTLE BUS AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO ARE STAYING AT OTHER HOTELS?
No, shuttle buses will not be available to drive to other hotels or destinations.
HOW MUCH IS PARKING?
Parking will be available at McCormick Place Convention Center Parking Lot A for $23/day. If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, parking will be $16/day, with in and out privileges. Parking at the Marriott Marquis is $16/day. If the Hyatt or Marriott parking lot is full, McCormick Place will honor the parking rates for the Hyatt and Marriott Hotel, but only if you will be staying at either hotel.
DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A TICKET TO ENTER THE BAZAAR?
No, the bazaar is free of charge and open to the public, but all attendees must be checked in at the registration desk prior to entering.
WHAT ARE THE BAZAAR HOURS?
The bazaar will be open from 10:00 AM to 11:30 PM starting from Thursday, December 28 to Saturday, December 30, 2017. The bazaar will not be open during the Knowledge Retreat.
do i need to register my child for the daycare, school and young youth program?
Yes, all children must be registered in order to partake in any programming.
what are the ages children services cover?
MAS-ICNA prides itself in providing programming for all ages throughout the convention. The Daycare provides for ages 0-4 years, the School cares for ages 5-9 years, and Young Youth programming cares for ages 10-13 years.
WHAT ARE THE DROP OFF AND PICK UP TIMES FOR DAYCARE, SCHOOL, AND YOUNG YOUTH PROGRAMMING?
Drop off starts at 9:30 AM and pick-up is promptly at 9:00 PM with the exception of dinner break. All children must be picked up from all childrens programming for dinner break.
what can my kids do after pick-up?
will meals be provided in the daycare, school, and young youth programming?
Lunch will be available free of charge for children 5-9 years, but at an additional cost for children 10-13 years during the lunch break. Parents are responsible for providing food for children 0-4 years due to dietary restrictions.
what food choices will be available?
McDonald’s, Connie’s Pizza, 23rd Cafe, Starbucks, The Plate and more. These restaurants will not be serving any pork products on their menu throughout the time of the Convention. There are also halal food vendors available. For additional assistance, there will be a food concierge desk, free of charge, to help with nearby restaurants and reservation during the convention.
is food included in the registration ticket?
No, food is not included in the registration ticket.
who can audition for the talent show?
American Muslims Got Talent is open to all ages and acts. If you got talent and want to perform on stage, bring it on! Stay tuned for more information.
what is the funville carnival?
Take a break from lectures and enjoy some quality time with your kids at the funville carnival. Burn off some energy with the bounce houses and velcro walls. It runs all 3 days of the convention. For more information, visit Funville
WHERE IS THE QURAN COMPETITION GOING TO TAKE PLACE?
The Quran Competition will be held on Levels 2 and 3 of the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.
IS THERE A FEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE QURAN COMPETITION?
There is no fee for the Quran Competition, however you must be registered for the convention in order to participate. You must also register to be in the Quran Competition before December 1st in order to participate. Participants who wish to participate in the whole Quran category must pay $20 when they register. The money is only refunded when the participants show up in front of the judges at the time of their testing. Visit Quran Competition for more information and to register.
IS THERE A MATRIMONIAL BANQUET THIS YEAR?
Unfortunately, Half Our Deen Offline will not be available to host the matrimonial banquet at this year's convention, therefore, there will not be one.
