Abdul Rashid Abdullah

Abdul Rashid Abdullah is a US Army Airborne Veteran and IT System Architect. Abdul Rashid Abdullah earned his Eagle Scout in 1990, the year he reverted to Islam. He is currently the Executive Director and co-founder of NAMAS, the National Association of Muslim Americans on Scouting. He also serves as the Chair for the National Capital Area Council Islamic Committee on Scouting, Chartering Organization Representative for the Islamic Center of Northern Virginia Scouting Program, Committee Chair for Crew 114, and member of the Northeast Regional Relations (Religious) Committee for the Boy Scouts of America. He is an active trainer in the Boy Scouts of America, serving on staff in various roles for Wood Badge, the premier adult leadership course for Scouting. He also trains other leaders in Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting as well as assisting organizations in starting their own Scouting programs. He has served as a Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, and Committee Chair for various Scouting units. His interests are not solely relegated to Scouting. He is also Deputy Director for the American Muslim Armed Forces and Veteran Affairs Council, a member of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Civic Engagement team, and a Chief Election Officer for the Fairfax County Election Office. He is passionate about engaging others through Interfaith Activities and recently co-chaired an international interfaith activity sponsored by the National Capital Area Messengers of Peace, a group he co-founded. He is married to his lovely wife, Norlidah Zainal Abidin, and has three sons, Izzuddin, Seifuddin, Nuruddin, and one daughter, Tasneem, who is his precious princess.
